3 former WMGK House Bands are coming to together to support a musician in need.
Musician Impossible, Work Release and Sofa Kings are playing a benefit concert at Tom and Jerry’s on October 22 to raise funds for musician, Ray Martin.
Ray Martin — talented vocalist, staunch advocate of local bands, and all-around great guy — has taken ill and is experiencing serious financial difficulties due to unemployment and mounting medical expenses. The music community is giving back and supporting Ray as he has done such much for the music community throughout the years.
No fewer than SEVEN of Ray's favorite bands have generously donated their time and talent to help create the RayStock Music Festival - Benefit for Ray Martin. Presented here alphabetically (schedule to be determined), they are:
• Civil Discord
• Musician Impossible - 2013 WMGK House Band
• Patchwork aka The Rib House Horns with Su Teears
• Steamboat Annie
• The Sofa Kings - 2012 WMGK House Band
• The Whitewalls
• Work Release - 2014 WMGK House Band
Additionally, the good folks at Tom 'n' Jerry's are working with us to ensure that Ray and his family receive the maximum possible benefit from your generosity. There are many others who have volunteered to help with various aspects of the event as well.
Doors open at 1pm, bands will perform for 45 minutes every hour on the hour beginning at 2pm. We will have gift baskets for silent auction (please let us know if you would like to donate) and a 50/50 raffle. Admission/Donation to be determined. We may also offer advance ticket sales.
